Input Fort Wayne is inviting you to
Rethink Your Route and try a new way of getting around – without a car. Whether on foot, bike, bus, scooter, or skateboard, we want you to meet us at the YLNI Farmers Market on September 13 using alternative transportation.
Once there, you’ll find an interactive, welcoming space to share your real-world experiences with transportation in Fort Wayne; ask questions about local transit options, resources, accessibility, and safety; connect with transportation providers and advocates; and enjoy free merch. (Including a limited edition Input Fort Wayne tote bag for the first 100 visitors who complete our survey!)
We’ve invited community partners like Active Transportation Coalition, Citilink, Three Rivers Active Streets, and Community Transportation Network to join us at the market to answer your questions and provide transportation information. Moving Fort Wayne Forward Editor Joshua Schipper and Managing Editor Brittany Lantz will also be present to talk with you about lived experiences with Fort Wayne’s transportation options.
Getting there
The YLNI Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on East Berry Street.

Why it matters
This event and your feedback will help shape our upcoming series,
Moving Fort Wayne Forward, which will focus on building a modern, multimodal transportation system that better meets the diverse needs of Fort Wayne’s residents — from families and older adults to people with disabilities, youth, and underserved neighborhoods.
We know transportation is important. It touches nearly every aspect of community life — access to jobs, education, healthcare, and connection to one another. Yet, past coverage has often been fragmented and problem-focused, without centering voices from all corners of our community. Moving Fort Wayne Forward will use
solutions journalism and
community engagement to uncover what’s working, highlight innovators, and explore proven solutions from other communities that could be adapted here.
We hope to see you there!
