Marcy works at the Grand Wayne Convention Center and has watched the evolution of downtown Fort Wayne for over a dozen years all around her. “When we do site visits for visitors they can feel our enthusiasm for this city. People are always telling us how safe they feel downtown. When visitors bring their families, there is so much to do now! With over fifty restaurants close by and plenty of shopping and, of course, the TinCaps, our downtown is thriving. It’s not hard to fill all three downtown hotels when there is a large event or conference. I am looking forward to more growth, more hotels, and the Urban Trail to Promenade Park. Fort Wayne is all about the memories that people take with them when they leave. That brings me so much happiness like so many aspects of my job. I have always wanted to be a great mom, a great wife, and have a great career. I have found a way to do that, and having happiness in all of that is important to me. I feel so blessed. My joy comes from my mother. I was raised in a broken home and my mom was very strong. She just always chose joy even in the darkest of times. She always reminded me to be kind because you don’t know what another person is going through. Have grace and don’t judge. Those are words to live by. I have everything I ever wanted: a successful career, a beautiful family, and this great community. I really couldn’t ask for more, and I mean that. Fort Wayne is a special place to live and to love others.” #PeopleofNEI
