Adrian Curry (surrounded by ALC students) is the Founder and Director of the Art Leadership Center, also known as the ALC, a program for children and young adults. ALC gave a powerful performance at the Dr. King Unity Day Celebration at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. Adrian is from Fort Wayne and graduated at the top of his class from Morehouse College in Atlanta, where Martin Luther King Jr. attended college. “After Atlanta, I wanted to come home and be home. This is where I am from. If you want to build anything, you must start here. This is where I began, and I returned to start all over again. ALC exists to uplift the community and the world. Our environment is so important and teaches the mind like Socrates and Plato and the Egyptians did. If we can change our environment and vibrate to a higher frequency, we can move to higher places. ALC offers educational tools and instruction for the facilitation of rehabilitation, self-reliance, and sustainability. We do community service with an art component and a science component. We want to build bridges. It gives us such meaning in our community. You can be a leader at a young age. These are humble kids. They come from unique situations. Some have autism and most are being raised by single parents. They might look small but they are giants. They are the future of Fort Wayne and the globe.” #PeopleofNEI
